THE PRIDE OF GREATNESS...

…That They May Fear Me

What a man!
What a request...!!
.
A poor man once lived his life in penury, during
his travails, he was so humble and
accommodating, he was gentle, kind, caring and
very submissive.
.
There came a time were their kingdom was in
commotion because the king was sick of an
unknown disease that defied the knowledge of all
his physicians and those around his kingdom.
.
Because of this, a royal degree was made, that
whosoever will cure the king of the strange illness
was going to be the next king as the had no male
child to succeed him.
.
Every potential medical practitioner was given a
fair chance to prove his experience. Both
physicians within and around the kingdom tried
their ability but to no avail.
.
Fortunately, only the poor man cured the king
using some herbs he lent from his grandmother.
.
This was the beginning of greatness to him as he
was made the crowned Prince and all the
privileges accorded him. He was to hold that
position until the passage of the king.
.
Yes later, the king passed on and was buried
respectfully according to their custom and
tradition, a date for the coronation of the new king
was fixed after the King's burial.
.
That historic day came, everything was set, there
was dancing, singing, eating, drinking and lots of
merriment-there was excitement in the air.
.
The king was to make a wish after addressing his
subject using a Royal degree which was to be
affirmed by a clergy.
.
The time came and the king came up to address
his people, this was a very special time as the
king was so eloquent in speaking. After the King's
speech, it was time for the king to make a wish as
it was in their tradition.
.
Everyone listened attentively waiting to hear their
King's first royal degree. Surprisingly, the king
said, all his request was that his subject should
"FEAR HIM".
.
"What!" the chiefs wondered.
"Why should our king wants to be feared?". They
reasoned among themselves.
.
Everyone was shocked at the King's request but
noon could say anything as it was a royal degree!
.
The minister, before prayers pleaded with the king
to ask for something else but he remained
adamant. The new queen tried her best to make
him change his heart but he commanded that the
Queen lives his present or his guards will carry
her away...

Well, there was nothing anyone could do further
rather than adhard strictly to the King's command
as his words was final.
.
The pastor prayed, everyone affirmed, the king was
happy and left in joy...
.
Throughout that night, things that will make the
whole kingdom to fear the king began to happen.
The following morning, the Queen woke up, on
seeing the king (her husband), she ran away
screaming.
.
The maids and guards saw the king, they all didn't
believe their eyes so, they couldn't help running
and screaming.
.
This was so shocking to the king, he could not
why everyone took to their heels the very moment
they saw him so he(the king) decided to put a call
through to his cabinet members only for every
elders to run for their dear lives on seeing the
King.-- He(the king) wanted to be feared,
remember?
.
This was supposed to be a dream come true, but
unfortunately, it was not.
.
Everyone one hearing of the king's predicament
ran out of the kingdom, one after the other, they all
left the entire kingdom for the "fearful king".
.
What happened was to shocking to the king as he
never anticipated such.
.
"What is happening to me?", he wondered.
.
He was lost in thoughts while work close to his
mirror for a better explanation.
.
On reaching the mirror, guess what he saw, the
king had developed to dreaded horns on his
forehead. The King himself was threatened at the
sight of his face...
.
He cried and wailed, he prayed and begged, he
tried to reach out to the pastor but to no avail. He
tried all he could to return to his normal self but
couldn't.
.
He was deserted by everyone because he wanted
to be feared.

Be very careful of some of your decisions, always
consider other when you're in the position to
decide, don't be an island, try to listen to others'
suggestions and advice when taking a decision.

Yes, it is your life but let go of your ego else it
might consume you...
.
Remember, it is God that gives you the grace to be
what and who you are- don't take any undue
advantage of others or try to intimidate them
because you think they won't do anything.
